    SKI SEASON

The season in Portillo is from late June through early October (weather dependent). Since Portillo is located high in the Andes and in a box like canyon, storms stay for days, delivering several feet each storm. Portillo can have great snow through October in their best seasons. The snow here is comparable to snow in Utah in the States, or the high resorts throughout the Alps.

    ACCOMMODATIONS & CUISINE

The Hotel Portillo is one of the nicest hotels in all of South America, redefining the 5-star hotel! Not to mention the incredible Chilean cuisine that is served up daily. At Portillo you will not go hungry, as there are 4 meals a day. Whether you fancy sea bass or a nice carne, Portillo is the place. Many skiers come to Portillo for their fine food and accommodations, only to discover that the terrain is equally as good!

    THE MOUNTAIN

Portillo is a fun mountain for everyone, with long groomed runs to powder-filled chutes that run out across the Inca Lake. There are bowls & endless bumps to keep those knees in check. If off-piste and backcountry terrain is what you like, there are many options to challenge even an expert skier. Feeling like an adventure, then try Portillo’s heli-skiing operation and be whisked off to the massive terrain near the famous Aconcagua Mountain.

    NIGHTLIFE

While Portillo Village is not large, it has some very lively bars with friendly locals that make you feel like a life long friend! The resort has a very laidback vibe, which makes it easy to meet fellow skiers and locals alike.
